Perception sucks! We are changing perception one game at a time, plus Texas has nothing to boast about. Texas lost to WV. Wait until WV wins the Big 12 in basketball. I hope the divisions are North and South the North will win the majority of conference championships.
They can keep all the Texas recruits they want. Stay out of Florida Deadbeat!
I guess he doesn't realize that all "storied" programs are currently secure in their conference and have no need to move. A few exceptions, but it's pretty funny how arrogant fanbases don't understand the catch 22 here.
I'd rather be in the ACC because I just don't feel there is true stability in the Big 12. Texas has a 2.8 billion dollar endowment and very rich athletic boosters (oil barons) that would pay anything to get Texas out of the Big 12 and into the Pac 12, SEC, or Big 10 if they thought future Big 12 conference additions were not worthy. They talk like Louisville is the lowest of commuter schools and one step above a jr. college. They don't realize how far we have come and where we are capable of going. We have the best fans in the country, and as most of you, I just want us out of the Big East ASAP. I'm just saying, "The Eyes of Texas are Upon You" and we better keep our eyes on them too. Why do you think Texas A&M, Missouri, Nebraska and Colorado left? Go Cards!
Ive been hearing rumors coming out of the courthouse that we move this month to the B12. At this point I honestly feel like TX and WV deserve each other. The ACC has all the status as the B12 plus serious bball. Better travel, better academics, just a better fit for us.
If the NBC deal is good then we may be better suited for the BE in the time being. Though if we had to move now to keep CCS then get out asap
There was going to be a lawsuit against the BCS until the changed some of their rules i.e. a non-AQ can get a guaranteed spot if they finish ahead of a conference winner from an AQ
Cisco, why are you at the courthouse.
"Strike like lightning. Leave the thunder for those who like a loud roar!"
I've been hearing rumors here in jail that we are bound for the big 12 too.
I have a guy saying the same things AS TUX,another BIG UT guy, he says he thinks Rutgers is 12 , THIS RUMOUR STARTING TO PICK UP STEAM .
NTSA x 2
Well your name makes all the more sense now
because i had to get Cuffs out of jail for prostitution
Frankly what he thinks is completely unimportant to me. I care what the 10 Big 12 presidents think as they are the ones that hold UofL future in their hands.
I had kinda started hoping for the ACC. But whatever. Rolling into the Big 12 with Rutgers is fine by me. I really think the Rutgers football program could take off in a major conference. I don't mean they will be a perennial Top Ten team. I just mean their attendance and TV ratings could really flourish with major opponents coming in.
They are also in a talent rich state
USF going with UL would be much better than anybody else from the BE because we recruit Florida so heavy. We can promise recruits a game in their hometown every couple of years.
That or get a series with FSU or Miami going again. At the very worst we should play an away game in Florida every year against a BCS team and not FIU.
You think an announcement will be made soon...seems like the rumor is that we'd JOIN this summer, which would mean we'd need to declare out intentions fairly soon right?
This is from TuxedoYodas blog, some insightful stuff , and actually quite brilliant.

Let's look at the timeline shall we
This is intended for the folks who still believe the spin that the Big 12 is 100% committed to staying at 10 teams. It isn't. The Big 12 will be back to 12 teams, and will have a conference title game, before the 4-team playoffs begin.
The Big 12 has always wanted to be back at 12 teams, it just wants to do it with the right teams and with the fewest amount of legal headaches possible. The proof of this claim can be found in the timeline of events that happened from the very late summer & into the fall of 2011. Most people think that the Big 12 added TCU after A&M left and added WVU after Mizzou left, but this is not entirely correct.
A&M announced their exit to the SEC on 8/31/11. At this moment, the Big 12 only had 9 members lined up for 2012. Then, TCU announced their intentions to join the Big 12 on 10/10/11. The Big 12 is back to ten members for 2012. Mizzou exits next, right? Wrong. WVU announces they are joining the Big 12 on 10/28/11. This puts the Big 12 at 11 members for 2012. If you recall, there was still serious politicking being done to keep Mizzou in the Big 12. Did it ever seem likely to succeed? Not in my opinion......still, the Big 12 was working hard to retain Mizzou. They didn't announce their exit until 11/6/11. However, in that window, the Big 12 was working towards the goal of getting back to a 12 team league. 11 members is not viable and, beyond any doubt, if Mizzou had been retained, Louisville would have been #12.
That was less than a year ago.
Bowlsby may be new to the equation but the long-term vision has always been the same. The Big 12 will get back to having 12 teams and a title game. The ACC securing ND as a partial member was an unexpected twist. FSU & Clemson promised to give Swofford time to deliver on this Hail Mary - and he did. This is why Dodds was working so hard to secure ND as a partial member, so that FSU and Clemson would be available to the Big 12. Unfortunately, the rest of the Big 12 didn't support Texas enough in bringing in ND, so the next 2 additions will likely be sub-par. Still, don't doubt for one minute, that teams 11 and 12 are coming.
Come on man.....
Now we are hanging on the words of "Yoda" for our conference lives?
It's over boys....has been for a long, long time...
I'm not hanging on anybody's words. I simply asked a question. Believe it or not, you can implore for further information on a subject without being completely sold.
I think we are very close to an invite.

The Big 12 is inviting Memphis????????? They are 1-8 with their only win against Rice. If this is the new conference they must be preparing for a mass exodus of UT, TT, OU, and OSU. I think you better check your hearing.
My only guess is so they can get a games in Memphis which is a good sized market and I believe is a talented area for football recruits...that is my ONLY guess, but I dont think Memphis State is going to get an invite.
