How The Left Became Neo Con

  • Specifically, regarding the possible (or imminent) naming of Chuck Hagel to Sec of Defense.

"Numerous reports from Friday indicate that President Obama, possibly as early as Monday, will name Chuck Hagel as his nominee to replace Leon Panetta as Defense Secretary. Many of the most right-wing GOP Senators have already categorically vowed that they will oppose the nomination of this decorated combat veteran and two-term GOP Senator from Nebraska, claiming he's hostile to Israel, "soft" on Iran and anti-military. Hagel's confirmation thus likely hinges on the willingness of Democrats to support it.

But before Hagel was nominated, numerous Democratic partisans and various liberals already expressed reservations or even outright opposition. Some of those, such as Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Eliot Engel, are driven (as usual) by the same mentality driving neocons: they're worried that Hagel is a dissident when it comes to the bipartisan DC orthodoxy mandating lockstep, unquestioning support for the militarism and aggression of the Israeli government."

Glenn Greenwald: As Obama prepares to nominate the controversial former senator, the key question is whether Democrats will help neocons oppose him

  • Ok, your headline leaves me a little confused.

I read the article and didn't see anything that told me how the left became neocons.

I support Hagel because it APPEARS that he MAY cut defense spending.

I may have screwed up the title.

My interest was in proposing the drastic difference from just a few short years ago in the feelings towards warfare. I personally believe the left has embraced the military industrial/bizarre power-clownish foreign policy role of 'might is right'. Very convenient when you get power and recognize the advantages.

The absoluteness of backing Israel has already clearly shown they have the power to lead us by the nose to places which are not in anyone's interest. We become subjects of their inner politics, as a result, helping them elect duplicitous mother fuckers who spy on us regularly and couldn't care less about us. The better Israeli's, for the record, are not about that - but the schemers would ream us bad, given half a chance.

Hagel is on record as hating that crap.

Did you ever see the video where Israel's PM straight up talks about how he manipulates us, and that he can get away with doing anything right under America's nose? It was sickening.

Valid points in that aticle. I'd like to see it written again by the same author if we have the 2A raped.

It's pretty common knowledge to anyone who reads a newspaper outside the US, lol.

  • So I'm looking around the net and come upon this:

Israel Controls Major American USSR Goons to her Detriment

David Duke reports on the threats to America by the Zionist Neocon Banking conspirators who have destroyed independent pro-American thinking and replaced it with anti-American policies to help Israel and its banks to destroy world economies, peace, etc.
