Zeke Pike

I think this is just a rumor started by some UK bluenecks...Charlie knows better than to take this big of a headcase, regardless of talent. And, we don't need him to boot.

We have Teddy (SO), Will Stein (SR), and Will Gardner on campus now. Kyle Bolin comes in next year. If we were hurting for QB commits I could see us looking his way, but with the talent we have committed and the talent we have on the field, I don't see us giving Zeke a chance at all.

Uofk isn't mentioned and doesnt have anything to do with this. Why even bring them up?

  • I can't help but laugh at the comments about this kid. He has made some mistakes, I'm sure none of you made stupid mistakes when you were 18 years old. His are magnified because of being an athlete. I say bring him in and let him compete, If he's the best QB or TE on the roster how does this hurt? I think the coaches know better than any of you.

  • mike farrel of rivals actually called for him as a better TE prospect than QB one back in HS. QB usually takes kids with strong leadership abilities and kids with good heads on their shoulders. He's 6'5 230 so he has decent size. We'll see..

Was told this a few days ago, think Darius Ashley program for Zeke. Then they will go from there. He has to redshirt anyways. And he is coming here to play TE, not QB.

  • Does anybody actually know this kid? Because I wouldn't feel confident commenting on someones character unless I've actually had some type of interaction with them.

Come on man, do Shine and the Titanic for us. juggle

  • So he sits out a year? I have every confidence in our coaching staff's ability to handle this and any player situation. And hopefully this young man is smart enough to learn a lesson from his experience...

I don't know the kid personally, but have been around him through high school football for the last 4 years. I want to trust in CCS to do what is right, but this kid scares me. He has been given many free passes with the local authorities and school system. His last stunt in the locker room before a game the school could not turn a blind eye to. My guess is that he will mess up this chance also and never see the field.

  • He is supposed to play TE for yall.

  • Having another talented qb is not a bad thing. If for no other reason to have a warm body on the bench if ya need him.

I doubt Strong would have accepted him without conditions for him to fix his behavior. It's amazing how getting kicked out of a school/off a team can motivate change.

Doesn't always work out, but going from heir apparent at Auburn to a 3rd string at UofL will be a kick in his pants. Hopefully he responds well & can be productive. If not, we've got more players on the way.

  • We've had Ashley with his 2 DUIs and Scruggs with his DUI. Other than that, I'm pretty sure there have been no arrests under Strong's watch. That is pretty impressive compared to other major college football programs. We also haven't seen players not making it in the classroom once enrolling here. I think Strong has earned the benefit of the doubt. If this staff can guide Pike and keep him out of trouble and motivated, then this is an absolute steal in picking up a guy who had offers from EVERYBODY out of high school.

IF he does what he needs to do. It certainly isn't a bad thing to have a guy that you could possibly go to next year if something were to happen to Bridgewater. Stein's gone after this season, Gardner is redshirting and Bolin will be a true Freshman. He could learn the system this season and IF he does what he needs to do, I could certainly justify him coming in to finish a game if Teddy got injured.
