UK-UL Prediction Thread

  • I'm very surprised that I haven't seen a prediction thread for the first game of the season so I figured I'd one up now while the season still has yet to kick off.

    I'll go with 31-10 UofL.

As with most years in the recent series I think that this is gonna come down to the run game. Last year our Oline wasn't exactly the most impressive; however, we return most of our starting line (only missing Kessling from last season). On the flipside, UK lost 3 of their starting five (Burden, Hines, Murphy) but will also return a very capable players in Warford and Smith. It seems we've got more of an advantage in regards to experience (and hopefully cohesiveness) with the oline.

    Sidenotes
QB is a pretty big question mark for the Cayuts and from what I hear they haven't exactly been the most impressive in camp. Also of note is RB Clemons (a quality back IMO) is just getting back on the field after injuring his knee last Fall.

Barring any injuries, I think this is probably gonna be the last year that we see Hakeem Smith gracing our secondary. The previously unheralded recruit made his name heard his first year as a starter and respected run-stopper while on his way to earning Big East Rookie of the Year honors. In his second year we saw a bit more balance from Smith as he dropped back into coverage and did a pretty bang up job for our secondary. I believe we'll be hearing his name on April 25th flex

  • 34-7. I just cannot see their O scoring more than 1 TD against our D. They still don't know who their QB is going to be and they lost most of their decent players to graduation.

Yes the cupboard is bare. Uk lost a lot of talent and returns very little. If our Dline went through them like butter last year then just wait and see what happens with the 3 freshman they will be starting on their Oline. At the end of the 3rd qtr they will have less then 10 pts. However, they might score a late TD when the game is out of reach. UL by at least 2 TD's.

  • it will be 24 to 9 Cards with the victory. i picked the score last year, so im hoping i can make it 2 years straight

  • 34-7 Cards.

    UofL05

  • I predict that no matter what the score in UL's win, UK will claim they played better than the score indicated and UL didn't play that well. I also predict that UK will downplay the loss due with their attention to the $EC games. I also predict that Joker will continue to be in the dark about his upcoming firing. In addition, I predict that talk of basketball out of Lessington will begin immediately after the game.
I predict Charlie will be humble about the win and dissatisfied with the Cards overall play.biggrin

  • 31-7, I have a feeling our defense will be getting after their QB with some regularity this year. Time to go hunting men and get some sacks.

  • 35-7. I picture our d-line doing to UK what the shark in this clip does to the guy hanging from the vent.

  • I'm going with 35 - 3 UofL! But If I see another coach Bedford interview I might have to strap on the pads and take out some wildcats September 2nd..thus the score will be 57-3!

  • 24-21 not sure who wins. But let me ask a question? What was UofL's record against teams with a winning record? Understanding you changed the offensive Cordinator but didn't UofL lose to Marshall and probably do to youth, but got beat pretty soundly by NC State? No doubt you have talent but I think the teams are a lot closer to each other in ability than you think. It should be a good game, while I think Teddy's ability to scramble will be the difference, UofL is very young on defense and Morgan Newton will not be the QB this year.

got beat soundly by NC STATE???? You mean, driving to tie it until our line fell apart and we had the interception with about a min to go?

UofL has the advantage at EVERY SINGLE POSITION. That is not an exaggeration. If the game is within 2.5 TDs, I'd be upset......But I won't be.....will not be close...

  • Still can't ignore it's a rivalry game. While I predict a sound victory, it will be tougher than most think. 24-14, CARDS, but CCS won't run it up on a friend.

This game was never really close, NC State got relaxed, and UofL made a nice comeback. And do you really think you have the advantage at every position? It's not Oline vs Oline, and I'm fairly certain UK's D-line will give UofL Oline all they want. I think alot of people will be shocked after that game. Like I said I think pretty evenly matched teams.

Also what was Your record against teams with a winning record? You beat 1. West Virginia. You lost to the other 3 teams.

You guys should have confidence going into the game. But some of the scores people post are insane.

LOL at ''beaten pretty soundly.'' Cat fans. If losing by 7 is pretty sound, what would you call what South Carolina and Vandy did to you last year?
