SCREW THE BIG EAST!

  • Hatcher made it clear that was a BIG reason he didn't commit to us! Really ticks me off seriously! UofL seems to always get screwed someway somehow, either it be by the state of Kentucky or the media! I seriously pray that CCS and company stick it right to every team this year and show the nation WE ARE BACK!

    As I said on the premium board, what gets me is-we could have already been in the B12. Someone decided not to go and stay with the Big Suck.

    That someone has gotten every pass in the world. Quite frankly, I don't care about Field Hockey, etc. We had a chance and the Big Guy blew it. Why do you think the B12 skipped us and went on to W.VA.? Because we told them no several months ago.

  • Hind sight is 20/20. At the time UT and OK to the Pac 10 rumors were rampant. Mizzou to the SEC... All we can do now is win football games. Things will work out.

    Based on what?
    Pitt and Syracuse both have more tradition and football success all time than UL. UL is a relative newcomer to the football big time (if we are there at all). That's just the truth and I'll probably be attacked for saying it. Have at it

    OK so what Pittsburgh did back in the 1970's got them into the ACC? This has nothing to do with who has more tradition. What has Pitt and especially Syracuse done recently to warrant inclusion more than Louisville?

    At the time it looked like Texas and OU were gone and we got hamstrung by Pitt and 'Cuse....Esp Pitt. If TJ had any idea what was going to go down UofL would have run to the B12 even without Texas and OU

    Very good point. I have heard several stories about recruits being told Louisville will be in a new conference. This week, a co-worker said a friend of his had a kid being recruited in a non-revenue sport, & they were told Big 12 (when this was told to them I'm not sure).

    I recall someone saying Jurich had stated he was worn out by conference expansion & was sick of being lied to. I'm starting to feel as though Louisville has been hung out to dry not once, but possibly two or more times by other conferences.

    Every time it seems a go, the other conferences think they have a better option (ND, FSU, Clemson, etc).

    At this point it's hard to be all that confident, but have to hold out hope. Really need a massive year across the board.

    I agree. He would not have straight turned them down. At least he would have asked for some type of provisional arrangement for if everyone left.

    I'm not sweating Hatcher. Tons of time left to signing day, and if you think he'll be rock-steady the whole way, you're crazy. Hopefully we light everyone up this year and climb into the Top 10 before he signs.

    But the main thing is to win LOTS of football games the next two years and stay in the Top 15. If we do that, we will in a better conference, period. No way a school with a Top 5 BB program and a Top 15 FB team with 55,000 fans in the seats who travel well and whose team is going to (and hopefully winning) BCS games gets left out when others want to expand.

    Even if it's true, it's most likely it was an invite contingent on Texas and Oklahoma leaving anyways. I don't think the Big 12 WITH Texas and Oklahoma ever invited us. Most of the talks at the time actually had 4 Big 12 teams joining the Big East, not us going there.

  • To me from what Jurich has done with UofL since he has been here is the best job any AD has ever did for any school, he has turnes UofL into the sexy model, and I don't see how confernces can pass us up at all. It puzzles me. Gpa is going up, the best facilities any school could ask for. So im seriously not sure what is the problem here?

    bigger tv market, and thats the bottom line. They sure as hell didn't get invited into the acc for their football programs.

  • Yiou are correct about the TV Markets. But say what you want...Louisville is 0-4 against Pitt for the past 4 years. Kinda sad, but the truth is the truth and it surely hasn't helped.
