They are still done by a 2 year old!
Pitt my ass
CCS had what I think HIS dream job when Florida opened but decided to stay. My opinion is he is here for the long haul.
Welcome back to the Herbie Awards, where the elite players and coaches of college football are celebrated.
What a shock that ESPN picks ACC bound Pitt as champ. They probably pick Syr as darkhorse. This is another example of why ESPNs monopoly on sports coverage must change.
Logan Thomas is incredibly overrated IMHO.
Lots of propaganda in those Herbies. I really hope the Big East moves to NBC. There really needs to be another player in the landscape of sports media that can challenge ESPN. I think NBC, CBS, and Fox probably need to team up to make that a reality, but we'll see what happens.
Color me shocked... the only two mentions of the Big East outside of Herbstreit's conference champ prediction are both Coaches (Strong and Holtz) who will have higher profile jobs soon. Not a single player mentioned
Just another case of ESPN trying their best to make the Big East as irrelevant as possible. It's all part of the agenda you will see all season long... because they know they're going to be outbid by NBC for Big East broadcast rights. Might as well minimize the conference now, right ESPN?
And did you notice his National Champ game? ACC vs Pac-12.
Wonder how that's sitting in SEC circles?
I read this garbage earlier today. When I saw whose list it was I should never have even clicked it to open it.
If Pitt wins the conference, then the conference will be truly lousy, and I cannot see Strong being wanted for "better" opportunities. Herbie's pick of Pitt, thus, makes zero sense and only shows his/ESPN agenda against strong Big East teams. Now, I don't see Pitt winning the BE, but Strong will be wanted by other programs -- but he'll stay.
I did see a big mug of Herbstriet on a billboard traveling down I-65 South today. I think he'll be in Louisville sometime soon.

The only way to describe Herbstreit is as a "Company Man".He tows the ESPN agenda line daily. He is truly awful for college football. He ignores up and coming schools and players. He is by definition a "Bandwagon Fan". He has a gigantic ego and thinks he knows everything about college football. He simply sticks with the status quo. The fact that he chooses PITT to win the BE shows that he is again toting around ESPN's baggage. "Bash the Big East", rinse repeat. I wish the self-styled pretty boy would grow a set. I have to hit mute every time I see his ugly mug on ESPN.
CCS already pasted an earlier CNNSI article in the locker room. Guessing this one will find it's way on the wall as well.
That is all...
Stand Strong! GO CARDS!!!
The last thing Herb wants to do is stop the gravy train. $$$$$$
Having all of the "BEST-KEPT SECRETS" selections as players from power conferences is a joke. Do a little research and find the true SECRETS. Where are the Tony Romo's (Eastern Illinois), Victor Cruz's (UMass), Greg Jennings' (Western Michigan), ...? Hmmm
Award to Kirk Herbstreit: THE BIGGEST JACK ASS AWARD
Seriously, he says our coach will be moving on, yet he doesn't mention our team. I guess the Big East is dead to ESPN. I've always hated Herbstreit's fake humility. He can go back to The Ohio State University and become their next quarterback coach. He's such a homer. Go Cards and win big.
No offense but what are you talking about? Charlie was not offered the UF position. His named was mentioned but it is not like he was offered and turned it down.
How is Barry's back feeling these days? How do you know who was offered the job? How do you know who turned it down? Is that you Foley? Dude....where's my car?
Yes because one of the top five football schools always just offer jobs to coaches who they never even interviewed.
So now you have to either admit Charlie went against his word and did in fact interview behind UofL's back or you have to admit UF offered him the job with him never even interviewing.
Let's see how ya play this one.
I would say his back is doing very well. Recently elected to the hall of fame, collecting a nice check from ESPN.
this SOB can suck my left nut, what a freaking titty sucker, i bet herbs wife runs his house and he falls in line like a good monkey, wvu has never been mentioned for hardly anything when they were in the big east and now he picks pitt???? omg what is college football coming to, pitt hasnt been in the running in God knows how long, they are going to the acc, i highly doubt that they have the motivation to win, they just want out. man he really disappointed me with his article.
Never said they offered him the job, only how you know how the University of Florida athletic department conducts business. More importantly...if they gave CCS the opportunity to interview and he declined. So it would seem that you are not out of line asking someone else what they are talking about since you truly have no idea yourself. If we were all so informed of the dealings within major college football there would be no need for websites such as this. But you already know this because UF got exactly who they wanted all along. Will Muscrat..er Mustang.. aw shit Muschamp.
I like your style
Charlie was the assistant HC for years under Urban and knew the system and players like no one else would. If your a school in Florida who wouldn't want our coaching staff the way they recruit that state!
Remember how nervous we were when that job opened up, or have you already forgot, and don't say you wasn't worried!
Isn't it interesting that the number 1 and 3 ranked up and coming coaches come from a conf that sux per ESPeeN.
And that every time an ESPeeN owned conf erence east of the Rockies needs to expand ESPeeN advises them that their conference upgrades can only be accomplished by adding teams from a conference that "no one wants to watch" per ESPeeN(BC, UM, V Tech, Syr, Pitt, WVU, . . .!
Herbstriet is a dolt at best, and a hack. All but two players in his categories come from a handful of schools in the ESPeeN owned conferences. Per him, Jerry Rice never should have been drafted.

Great time to be a Cardinal, and getting better!
Honestly, we NEED the media to downplay us. When we "overperform," that sets the stage for respect to be earned.

I was not worried about UF because I did not think there was a shot Charlie would be offered the job. There has been other positions open up in the SEC that have worried me but I did not think UF would take a shot on Charlie yet after just one year. Now had it been three or four years and he had the success many of us expect, then yes I would had been very worried.
