Very well said Cardland^^^^^^^^
and I have a hard time believing anybody who is a true ukant fan is a "rational" fan. So that guy "ukani" Is an INSTANT ANOMALY!
In further news, Lebron James has decided to play for the Albuquerque Thunderbird's for the remainder of the season.
A simple question: is your butt jealous of the amount crap coming from your mouth?
Someone should remind Mr. Hatcher what happens to M. Coble and every other highly prized Kentucky recruit that chooses UK.
The last 5 top rated players to play at UK have had a career ended by injury, a career fall flat because of the lack of offensive linemen, a transfer, a no show on the field, and..... one who ate his way out of any chance at a future in the game.
Or someone could ask Corey Peters...................
In birdseat's theme, what is this immediate PT stuff? I'm sure the kid has talent, but this isn't hoops, it's pretty rare for a defensive lineman or similar position to come in and show up right off the bat in college football, much less the sec. Chances are if it's immediate PT he's after I'd highly recommend to him to be careful what you wish for, dominating high school is one thing, but lining up against seasoned beasts in a real conference is another, especially when your teammates are less than stellar as well.
Stoops will get UK Bowl eligible by scheduling 2-3 oc games and try to win three in the SEC which is not that hard to do and leave Lex for a better gig..
Jason Higdon @Jason_Higdon
Put me down right now for Southern Cal for Jason Hatcher folks. Take a picture save it and frame it if you want. :-)
Higdon is as money as it gets. OP is a joke.
Yup I'm going with Higdon here. Dude is money on this stuff...
Well the hope around UK is that this has changed. UK is investing in $110Million to $118Million into football upgrades and has (I believe but not sure) the 2nd highest paid Coordinators in the SEC. Mark Stoops seems to be happy and says that thus far UK has given him and is giving him everything that he asked for. The athletic department also put on a big elaborate campus celebration for Mark Stoops as well so they think that the UK Administration is kind of changing there tune on this. What we know is that the UK fan base was so fed up with the turn out of last season that UK average around 30K in actual attendance that showed up at that game and UK Football's revenue dipped by around $7Million to $10Million. People inside the program say that UK felt the hit as well so they took measures to hopefully correct the issues. But it remains to be seen. The State legislation passing the law to allow public universities to do there own bonding puts UK athletics on the same playing field as the rest of the SEC if that ruling actually happens. Before now UK has never been on the saying field in any way in the funding department. Mitch Barnhart wants to point fingers at the state government as the reason why but most fans don't buy that. Especially when less than 10% of the football program's revenue has been going back into the football program to this point.
As far as Mark Stoops being able to stop teams with UK talent even though he hadn't been able to do it at Florida St..... Here is the deal. Most rational UK fans know that Mark Stoops isn't going to be able to build the Steel Curtain Defense at UK. We don't think that we'll end up being a defensive juggernaut. Actually if you look at Stoops defense its actually Steve Brown's (former UK defensive coordinator) defense but with less man-to-man coverage. He doesn't blitz much just like Steve Brown. Most UK fans don't know that but when they figure it out they'll complain again. But you also have to understand the way that Mark Stoops plays defense. His defenses play Cover 3 coverage so he will allow teams to have the underneath stuff but you won't get anything deep on him. He plays is LBs at a little deeper depth to give them better sight at play recognition but that opens you up to the run game, which is why he prefers a dominant DLine which UK doesn't have. So because this is his scheme teams will gain yards on you but his strategy is to shut you down in the short field. Because of this overall strategy is the reason why Florida was able to gain a lot of yards on Florida St. Florida is a running team with one of the better SEC RBs, (Muschamp lost his mind trying to pass the ball against you guys) and because the way Stoops plays defense it was a great matchup for Florida. UK isn't going to hang there hat on defense we are going to hang our hat on offense, the explosive Air Raid offense with a revamped running game and hope over time we can develop a solid defense (top 25 or top 35). that's what we hang our hat on. If this coaching staff can get the talent in here at UK and develop that talent and enact the plan of an explosive Air Raid offense and a solid defense then we'll be all good. I'm not saying that we are like Oregon but that was the blueprint that Oregon used to build there program to where it is. The biggest problem with it is that Oregon didn't have to face the SEC every week.
Also with Stoops you have to understand that he was off the board before most teams even made a list of coaches to interview. So its kind of hard for him to be on the list with other schools if he was already committed to UK.

Stoops off the board for this season, what happened to the other seasons?
All we heard was Rick Minter was the savior on D. Before him, Archer was the D guru before UK fans were ready to run him out of town.
What do you think Stoops is going to say?? Uhhh, it sucks at UK???
Bonding??? LOL...UK has had money to invest in football, they chose not to. Louisville managed to build a ton of facilities through private donations, including how PJCS was started. Its called making excuses. All we hear is all the fan with "money" in Lexington ..blah, blah, blah...until it comes to football.
You would think being a rational UK fan you would wait as see before getting all hyped on an unproven coach at a more than unproven football program. And you keep saying most" UK fans...The word "most" and "rational" will NEVER be used in the same sentence unless its meant to be a joke. UK gets a 3 star receiver today and the word is how Stoops is killing Strong in recruiting...Last I checked UL took the 3 star LB so in that case it was a wash.
Anyway, you can throw out what scheme he uses, and excuses of why FL ran all over his FL ST D all you want. The reality is UK is and will be the doormat of the SEC. When the smoke clears on signing day, UK's class will rank at the bottom of the SEC again, when the smoke clears at the end of next season, UK will be at the bottom of the SEC and when the smoke clears in 3 to 4 years, UK will be looking for a coach.
A five page thread of multiple walls of text from a UK guy and we argue with him like any of this nonsense matters. It's UK football, people. That's all you have to say.
UK's greatest football coach=whichever one has never coached a game yet
He coached a defense against Florida. 394 yards yep he's a game changer in the SEC.
Anybody want to make a wager that my source is SPOT ON?
I'll take that action, what's the bet? If he picks Kentucky, what do you win? And if he picks USC or Louisville, what do I win?
Ship may have sailed on Hatcher. Reports are now saying we're in on 4 star Paul James III.
Where did you pull that from?
Have to call BS on that. you can not tell me that uk is willing to pay more for Coordinators that all the other SEC teams.... yet they are right near the bottom of the SEC in Head coaches Pay....
Regardless of Hatcher, the kid is a prima Donna. I predict he flops wherever he goes. Even if its here.
I'm thrilled we got Quick. Thrilled! He's the real deal. No more needs to be said there
But the one that hurt was losing White. He's going to be a player, even at Vandy. Hatcher will fall into oblivion IMO, but Ryan White has a future.
Regardless of what Hatcher decides, the kid has a reputation of being a prima Donna. Not what you want to see of a D lineman. I predict he flops wherever he goes. Even if its here.

My source told me about Paul James as well - only this was last night. He said he would take James over Hatcher anyday.
Look it up. I'm not sure but I do remember reading something of that nature in the news papers. UK's coordinators are getting paid around $500,000 per year. Stoops isn't getting paid at the bottom of the SEC..... He's actually in the middle of the pack. He's got a similar deal as Charlie Strong in money....
ummmm, no he doesn't. Did you just fall off the turnip truck?
Apparently you didn't understand what I was saying in my post. I was saying that the UK administration was making excuses but the UK fan base wasn't buying that. So you call it excuses on why the UK administration hasn't invested the money and UK fans agree with you.... No argument there.
As for defensive saviors I think wait I said got past you because I said that reasonable UK fans know that we aren't going to be a defensive juggernaut so we aren't looking at Stoops as a defensive savior. What you have to understand his that most of the UK fans on these boards know about basketball but with football they get st in the X's and O's because they don't know it. With that said Rick Minter was a disaster and ran an unsound system at UK. UK would have been better off with Steve Brown at Defensive Coordinator.
As for what we think Mark Stoops is going to say.... All I know is that the improvements that he asked to be done before he took the job is being done. If Stoops thinks that UK sucks then he's got recruits fooled and that matters more than fooling fans.
All my optimism is in the wait and see..... As for him not being on no ones board as a head coaching candidate is kind of hypocritical don't you think? Charlie Strong wasn't actually a hot commodity for head coaching candidates before getting the HC job at UL. Same goes for Bobby Petrino so I don't think it's a requirement to be a highly sot after coach to be a good head coach. All that stuff is is hype.
No reply to Bezzle? He took your bet...what's the wager?
