Atlantic: Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Maryland, North Carolina State, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
Coastal: Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Current setup for 2013. Remove Maryland and fill in Louisville. What would be your favorite setup for Louisville?
News going around today was GT to Atlantic and UofL to Coastal. Clemson would be our cross.
wow. that would be miami, vt, UNC, and clemson every year. Crazy difference from cinci uconn usf and temple
I would love that setup.
Personally, I would LOVE ANY Setup as long as we are in the ACC!!!
But whether coastal or atlantic doesn't really matter to me because there are JUICY nugget on both sides!!!!!
Having games with Florida St. and Clemson would ROCK, but so would having games against Virginia Tech and Miami!!!! So in either situation us Cardinal fans are the WINNERS!!
See later post.
Poster claims GT moving to Atlantic and we are going to Coastal. Makes sense as FSU, CLemson, UNC in Atlantic and VaTech, us and UM in Coastal will likely be the 6 top rated programs next year . Splits power equally.
Anxious to see who our two matchup teams are in the Atlantic. I hope that every one gets one interdivisional rival and rotates 8th game among the other 6 teams in the other division so that everyone pays every school at least every 6 years (similar to $ec, i.e. UKant only plays west div teams once every 6 years.)
Great time to be a Cardinal, and getting better!
Remove Maryland and fill in Lousiville would be my favorite setup.
ESPN's ACC blogger Heather Dinich said she has talked to several ACC insiders and that no one is switching divisions, and Louisville will still replace Maryland in the Atlantic. I am very happy about that news. I would rather play Clemson and Florida State every year than Miami and Virginia Tech. Plus we won't have Duke on our schedule every year. Plus, us being in the Atlantic will allow us to get one road game in New England every year with either Syracuse or Boston College. Could help us open up new recruiting in those areas while still having Florida ties. If we were in the Atlantic the furthest Northeast we would go is Pitt every other year.

I don't really care about the setup. We are IN and that is all that matters.
....technically we would have MUCH SPICIER Rivalries in the Coastal with Wonderful History against VTech and Miami. But either division will be a BEAR to win especially once VTech and Miami get back to being ABOVE AVERAGE.
My favorite setup would be us playing a game in Florida every year, no matter what. Either in the Atlantic with a cross-over with Miami or in the Coastal with a cross-over with FSU. I know that is impossible with the existing cross-over already established, but the question was what would be my favorite setup.
As it stands, I think the two realistic options are 1. Maryland replacement: Atlantic Division with Virginia cross and rumored 2. GT replacement: Coastal Division with Clemson cross. Either option is great. With #1, in the Atlantic, you get to host either FSU or Clemson each year. With #2, in the Coastal, you would either host Miami or Clemson every year. In 2014, I think option 2 will be the "easier" schedule, but for the long-haul I think I prefer option 1, but again...either option is really amazing.
