TJ has stated that he would like to have that property and build a new arena there if Louisville brings a NBA team to town. If the city breaks our contract at the YUM, TJ should make them pay damages and use the money to go toward getting the property and building a new arena. They may be able to build around the silos since they are kind of a landmark.

I have a random question, what are the chances that if a new arena needs to be built, that it is as nice as the Yum center? I know TJ wouldn't go the cheap route, but the Yum center is the best in college right now. A lot has to change for that to happen, but it's not entirely out of the question.

This isn't exactly breaking news. U of L has known Solae was closing for a long time now and have already acquired the property. The silos are definitely coming down. The campus master plan has a park on the silo sites for the immediate future, and if the NBA thing ever becomes a reality then that is where an on campus arena would be built.
