Spreading it around means no receiver is featured so to speak. Also heard Devante hasnt ALWAYS been happy with his role since he's been at UL. Food for thought.
Scarban, very good point but perception is everything. OSU seems to be a pass happy offense, and Meyer is always telling every WR recruit that he is the next Percy Harvin. Crazy when you think they use a lot of option.
"Strike like lightning. Leave the thunder for those who like a loud roar!"
I'll just say this,
passing attempts 278
rushing attempts 559
Passing yards #105 in the Nation
passing attempts 424
rushing attempts 426
passing yards # 23 in the nation
Louisville players with more than 30 catches ...5
OSU players with more than 30 catches ....2
Great stats but these kids get told a different story when being recruited -
'We didn't throw as much b/c we didn't have the weapons on the outside. You are the weapon we have been looking for to open this thing up. You will be our star WR' blah blah blah. And there are very few, if any, bigger douchenozzles. than Urban Meyer.

Exactly. And Parker's father was vocal in the local media that he wanted his son to transfer because of the lack of balls thrown to him. I want Quick as bad as anyone but like you said, they all want to be the next Crabtree, Greene, or James - a featured WR. Not one of 8 guys who caught a pass in a game. Plus, outside of Braxton Miller, OSU doesn't have a playmaker. UofL has better talent at the skilled positions than OSU.
right now charlie and co are busy gettin ready for a bowl game. all urban and osu have to do is recruit. i bet they were all over guys lately and i bet quick is feeling the love big time from them. all will change in a week when we can really focus on recruiting!
I think it's the dead period....to prevent people who don't make bowls from having an advantage in recruiting time
The fact that Quick says the OSU coaches have talked to him a lot more and built more of a relationship...if that's true...that really is inexcusable. OSU recruits nothing but 4 and 5 star players, so Quick is in no way solely at the top of their recruiting priority list. He's just another guy. Quick is far and away the top guy overall Louisville is recruiting, and he's in our own backyard. Maybe the staff took for granted he was coming, but there is no reason they should be outworked by OSU for Quick. None whatsoever. I love this staff, but if he goes to OSU and for that reason, then that is outrageous. I hope Quick is just a kid that thinks it seems like OSU is after him harder.
Cory, I'm pretty sure I've read Quick is one of their top targets and that Meyer views him as a Percy Harvin type.
"Get on board, or get out the way"- Vance Bedford
I just can't imagine that is true about our coaches. I was led to believe he has a really great relationship with Coach Strong. Guess that could have been BS but I'm just not buying what Quick is selling here.
One of their top targets, sure. He's been the "it" recruit for us for a few years now. Absolutely no reason our staff should be outworked for him. I hope that part wasn't true.
I can't believe it's true. I bet Quick still ends up here. And I'll say I bet Hatcher ends up here as well. They have perfect opportunities in their hometown. Why go elsewhere? Nothing else makes sense.
Hopefully this isn't an indication. OSU is now warmer than we are.
Devante's dad was saying that when he said that Devante was going to transfer. His mother put that rumour to rest.
What perception? If someone is dumb enough to think OSU is pass happy there is nothing Strong can do to change that. Anyone who has ever watched OSU knows they dont pass much. Meyer has never benn pass happy. Florida had Harvin but they still didnt throw the ball all over the field. I not sure where the perception even came from. Other than Harvin, Meyer hasnt had that many highly drafted wideouts.
Meyer was pass happy at Utah and Bowling Green. Please be a little bit more informed before making absolute statements.

He has not been pass happy at Florida or Ohio st. It seems like he is trending toward less pass happy offenses since he started getting big time jobs. Why would you ignore his recent history? You said that Meyer has a rep for passing the ball but that was almost a decade ago. You also mentioned Parker's dad who has nothing to do with him. Then you criticized our offense for spreading the ball around to different receivers like its a bad thing when Ohio st. barely passes at all. Bottom line is that Quick won't choose OSU because of their passing O.
BTW go F%$k yourself.
Get your head out of your a$$, I am saying why he would chose OSU, not that he will. Hey man, I live in Columbus and my wife forces me to watch OSU. I hate OSU. Their WR and RB corp sucks big balls. Miller is the entire offense. Meyer does what he can with what Tressel left him, slow RBs and WRs who can't catch. 60% of all OSU passes were thrown to just 2 WR. Quick would immediately start and be the featured offensive player and if he is used like Harvin, he would easily receive over 45% of all touches as an H back. You need to learn a little about football instead of reacting without facts.
Every receiver wants to be the guy who catches 90% of the balls, not 5 out of 30 attempts a game. If you don't realize this you don't know WRs. WRs are the biggest prima donnas in football(Moss, Carter, 85, etc.). UofL has much better skilled players. How is that a UofL slam?
Well If he went to UL he could get the most out of 30touches... If he goes to OSU he'd get a lot out if 18.... Last 5 games they played they didn't throw the ball more than 20 times
You forget, as an H back he would receive passes and handoffs, therefore, double dipping as a RB and a WR.
Fortunately for us, not a great position of need. Give me a couple of four star big uglies on the offensive and defensive line and you can have Quick. Not to say I don't want him. I do.
