Per Mark Packer, all sports except football, but will play five ACC opponents.
I hate Kentucky.
Well, the fat lady has finally sung folks. It is get out of the Big East or bust for us right now. Notre Dame at least added SOME credibility to the conference. Now all is lost. Hopefully the ACC decides they need Louisville for a 16th member...

The Big East is like putting lipstick on a pig. This conference is now the Titanic and is going down now. We have to get the hell out ASAP.
I REALLY hope UL can be the ACC's 16 member...better for us in BB and FB.
I'm going out on a limb and saying there is literally 0.05% chance of that happening. Good thing is that ACC increased their exit fee to $50 million so the Big 12 cant poach any ACC team now. We are their best option, and they should take us now.
Man this is crazy, The inept leadership for the Big East couldn't get them to play ANY games vs the Big East now all of a sudden they are gonna play 5 against the ACC. Terrible Terrible leadership.
If you can't change the people around you....change the people around you.
I'm sorry, but what did we really lose today? Some good title IX sports and a little bit in basketball, that's it. ND was NEVER going to play football in the BE, and honestly I don't think anyone outside of BE members even considers ND a part of the BE. Maybe this actually helps us, as it could push Texas and Dodds to give up their pipe dram of ND playing football in the Big 12.
We have to get out now. Please let the ACC, or anyone at this point, send us an invite. I'd say Jurich is sweating bullets at this point.

I say good riddance to Notre Dame. I remember when we first joined the Big East, it was said that they would play Big East members one every three years in football. I'm still waiting for that one. And now they're going to play 5 games a year in the ACC. They can go to bleep.
I think this is a good thing. Now that ND is off the Big 12 radar, our position is stronger. The fans need to pack the house this weekend and our team needs to boot stomp the Tar Heels.
This is a HUGE game for us, as a program, I think. We win big and we rise in the top 15 possibly. It's not make or break, but it doesn't get much more important from a national perspective. At least with our schedule this year.
Most of the insiders on this and the scout board are still bullish on the move to the Big 12. I'm anxious to hear some inside perspective on the reaction to this move.
wasnt there something that said by a certain year The Big 12 had to have a conf title game with the SEC deal
And more food for thought for the Big 12. While we know they are football first, they don't want to fall too far behind in basketball, and the ACC is seprerating themselves.
ACC still is a 14 team football league...they'd have to add 2 to get to 16 then would be a 17 team bball league. I don't see ACC doing anything more unless they 2 more all sports and 1 more bball only. Seems unlikely.
This more than anything forces B12 to act IF they want to. BYU may be forced to concede some things now to get in B12, and frankly there may be some things that we didn't concede last fall that we will now to go along with BYU to get in the B12. Will B12 stop at 12 if they act or do they bring along a pod for us like UC and USF......
New Conference Logo To Be Inserted Here SOON!
If I were Jurich I'd call the Big 12 commish and Florida St. and say "look we'll pay the ACC exit fee for them to leave and you bring UL and Fl.St to the Big 12."
Either that or hold on to the ACC going to 16 and picking us. Rutgers and UCONN don't bring the overall athletic balance we bring.
I have to think that with the addition of ND, the ACC has moved past the Big12 in the conference hierarchy. Personally at this juncture in the game I would rather be the 16th in the ACC then the 11/12th in the Big12.
