Based on things said in this thread, Strong had an updated contract in front of him for weeks last year and didn't sign it until we got to 2-4. It has also been stated that he has an updated contract in front of him now that is going unsigned. Obviously Jurich understands supply and demand and is letting Strong know that he is worthy of an updated contract even before Strong has to ask for one, but apparently that loyalty is not being reciprocated, and I'm sure that is part of where the tension between the two is coming from.
If Strong wasn't willing to immediately sign a new contract in the early part of year two of his stint here, then I'm pretty sure he isn't any better than another coach that is now pretty hated around these parts, even though he is our most successful coach in our football history. If Strong does leave after this season, even with his success, the fact that he has come across as loving it here and his not going anywhere attitude, he will join the Bobby Petrino ranks of dislike around these parts.
I hope he stays, but I am quickly losing faith that he will.
Spot on. IF he turns out to be a fraud and just like the rest after all he has said, screw him. Hire Taggart and lets move on.
