I didn't see the interview with Peyton Siva on ESPNU, but a buddy told me that he said his father was living with him in the dorms. Can he legally do this? I thought you had to be a student to live in the dorms. Maybe he is...
Sounded more like an apartment if that is possible. I am pretty sure if it wasn't legal he wouldnt be talking about it.
He "stays" with Siva when he visits. In my language that is NOT living with him. As far as the NCAA rules are concerned I am foggy on whether this would be a violation or not. I wouldn't think so as we use to have male friends or relatives (alas girls were not allowed then!) stay with us when they visited at our dorm when I was in college. I would guess that it still is quite common.
I was hoping that he lived in an off campus apartment. I know all the upperclassmen did when I was the working with the team in the 80s...
i'm guessing its not a NCAA violation buy might be a school violation. If he's in a dorm.
Siva likely lives off campus. Most upperclassmen athletes do this. Probably Cardinal Towne or Province.

Can anyone confirm this? I want to tell my IU buddy to STFU...

Siva lives with Ware.
Dorm or apartment?
boxers or tighty whiteys?
Louisville by birth, Cardinal by the grace of God!
I dont see the big deal with this or how this would be a violation. When I was in school we used to do a fathers weekend with all my buddies and the dads would stay in our rooms. I think if he lived there permanently then it might be a issue but since he is visiting it is all good.
I know as recently as a couple of years ago the whole team lived in Minardi Hall. I would imagine that is still the case.
Now, after finally reading the ESPN article, I'm almost positive they're talking about Minardi Hall.
I'm not sure what the NCAA rules are here, but I'd have to imagine that if it were against the rules our compliance staff would've already put a stop to it.
