Per the front page of CardChronicle , can't post link on mobile but just thought I would share.
Comes from this article. "Dyer has picked one — a big, D-I school, he said, where he can play starting next month. "It's a school where he can replicate and duplicate," said Hill."
The redemption, and rebranding, of Michael Dyer.
"Get on board, or get out the way"- Vance Bedford
Thanks for the link. Good story.
The real story is whether Charlie Strong said yes.
could he play this year?
Dyer would be the highest rated player we've ever had in our history according to scout. Dyer was the number 2 running back in his class. James Quick and Peanut Whitehead were number 3 at their positions when they committed to UofL. He was the 16th best player overall for his class while Quick was rated 21st.
Not Would Be But Is! He Will Be Here First Week Of Practice. Great Get For The Program!

Hate to say it but wouldn't Willie Williams take that crown if we are counting transfers? #1 lb and like #8 overall
Yep you're right. Forgot completely about him(and I'm sure everybody else would like to forget him as well). Doesn't really matter all that much anyways. Dyer is obviously elite among the elite. Not the type of recruit we've had much success recruiting historically so It'd be pretty sweet. If we want to be a big boy we're going to have to land players like Dyer from time to time and there is no reason we shouldn't. Dyer was rated significantly higher than UofL greats such as Brian Brohm, Michael Bush, and even Teddy Bridgewater. Baggage aside this would be a monumental pickup. Traditionally we've done well with players that other programs may have overlooked. Let's see what happens when we have elite talent to work with.
I really think we are set at running back with Dom Brown and Perry, if he can return. However, I can see how Dyer would change the depth chart. The real advantage to Dyer, assuming he keeps his nose clean here, is the national perception. If he come in and we are able to rush for 200 yards a game with Teddy playing mistake free football, then I could see more people making an argument for us at the end of the season, if we are undefeated. That does not matter much to me, as I would be very content to be undefeated and not in the Championship game, but if Dyer can help the perception of Louisville and get us there I would prefer it.
The problem is we are not set. We would be set if we knew Perry's real status.Nobody is like Peterson of the Vikings. Dom Brown is coming off surgery and ayear layoff playing a position for only the second year of his football life. Lamb intrigues, but is also dinged up a lot and hasn't played a full game. Radcliffe looked very good in the spring, but has yet to play a college game. Potentially set? Maybe? Dyer was the MVP of a national championship game and played two years in the SEC.In Charlie I trust.
With This Running Back Core And Recievers There Is Zero Reasons Why We Can't Gain 200 Or More Yards.Plus The Schedule Is Weak Enough To Do So. I Suspect Each Back Will Run 110% Each Carry To Keep Ahead Of The Other Players. And You Know Coach Likes To Run.
I think Coach Strong hinted at it with these comments included in the CJ article this morning. Not to mention the ringing endorsement provided by the his community college president who is helping him:
-----(Arkansas Baptist President) Hill said he is more interested in making sure Dyer’s next school offers a good support system than he is “how many times he runs the football.”
In that regard, Hill said he has great respect for Strong, whom he considered a longtime friend in the coaching profession.
“I admire (Strong). I respect him. I think (he’d) be a great model for Michael, the support system,” Hill said.
Strong made it clear Wednesday that he has not added any new members to his team. But again speaking in general terms, the coach outlined his policy for accepting players with baggage.
“A lot of times you say to people you’re giving a second chance,” Strong said. “As a coach, the only thing you want to do is just make sure you have an impact on a young person’s life.
“You want to make sure that if you bring anyone into your program, he’s going to become part of your program and you’re not going to become him. That’s what I always say. ...
“Any time we’re looking to bring anyone into this program, it’s all about us wanting to change that young man’s future and give him a future where he has a chance to go be a productive citizen of society.”-------
Bottom line: Strong is the man. I would take him over any coach.
With him joining the program, would he raise our 2013 recruiting ranking?
Read on a couple other boards he will announce Wednesday.
