Luther, any news on if we can get into the acc next year for all sports?
won t happen
What's the hang up? The acc dude stated we could come regardless of maryland
Great to hear the guys are working hard on and off the court!
J5T4M aka jstam502
The hang up is that the ACC wants Maryland to pay all of the $50 million.

"Strike like lightning. Leave the thunder for those who like a loud roar!"
I always thought lack of talent kept me off the basketball team. Today's team may not think I am smart enough.
May just be that we'd have to pull a WVU to get out. May not want the negative PR. Aresco can't LET one out next year without setting a precedent that everyone else would use to get out. Rutgers, ND, UofL, 7 bball schools(?)).... WVU strong-armed their way out, and I don't think Jurich wants to do the Big East like that.
Of course, if some of the schools coming in pump brakes and stay put where they are, I suspect all bets are off then... We've heard SDSU and Boise say they are still coming, but I wouldn't be surprised if Aresco stalls on announcing the TV deal.... Just in case the numbers are so low that it can't offset the increased travel bill of some of the schools, resulting in an possible about-face prior to July 1.
I may be reaching with that theory, but....
I am TheContractor from TOS2. Accept no substitutes...
That should be irrelevant. The acc dude said us getting in early didn't hinge on Maryland getting out early
That's great to hear the team is doing well in the classroom.
Yeah, I dont understand the reasoning for sticking around in the BE either. Makes no sense to me. Just pay the buyout and get us a legit home schedule next season. Certainly the difference in $ from the ACC to the BE would offset the buyout. Plus, the HUGE bump in concessions, etc, for a 100% full Papa Johns compared to a 2/3 full Papa Johns.
Our home schedule is PATHETIC next season. I mean an abysmal JOKE. There is no possible chance in hell that we get any run for the NC game even if we go 12-0 and blow everyone out by 40. Its that bad.
The issue isn't with our buyout Maryland has to pay its 50 million dollar buyout and we definitely aren't going to pay for their buyout. The only way I see us leaving early is if the BE dissolves and we have to leave.
Administrators and coaches "say" alot of things for subversive reasons, and not for literal context.. Logically, how on Earth would a 15-team conference accommodate football scheduling? You're going to have unbalanced divisions, which will be unfair to eight teams. Then, you have to redo all of the existing ACC conference game schedules so that they include Louisville. No way the ACC ends up taking on such a logistical nightmare.
Been doing it for years...even reached out to UMass to replace Temple when they could have sat still with an even 12 instead of 13.
It's not a question of the $10M. That is owed regardless (with the 27 month exit). Early would presumably (based on WVU) cost an additional $10+ M.
Great time to be a Cardinal, and getting better!
There are reasons it couldn't happen, but scheduling isn't one. The things you list are easily accommodated
If LUTHER says it isnt gonna happen. Then it wont.
In RUSS we trust!
I think next year we are fine either way
