Here's an early look at the Big East Media Poll from Rhode Island:

Cincy over pitt is a bit of a surprize.
Cardinals were overwhelming media pick to win Big East, getting 24 of the 28 first place votes. Charlie Strong's team will be the heavy favorite to win the conference outright this season.
Interesting note: UofL was picked seventh last season and became the lowest preseason media pick to win a share of the Big East.
Two newsworthy items from interim commissioner Joe Bailey:
1. Search for new Big East commissioner down to five candidates.
2. A "firm" will negotiate Big East's new TV deal this fall.
Big East associate director Nick Carparelli talking about the new post season format starting in 2014. Says new system will have place for all "deserving" conference champions.
Good stuff Mike, keep it coming. Thanks!
Charlie Strong just briefly addressed media. No news from the Louisville coach.
Strong did reference that UofL was picked seventh last season and now they are first.... Strong said the reason for Louisville's ascent are the "players." Strong said, "Players are the ones that change programs."
Joe Schad (ESPN):
"Nick Carparelli of Big East says Orange Bowl interested in their champion as a possible pool participant."
Did you hear anything about this Mike?
