JoshK @joshk2010 @EricPrisbell you just gave the NCAA a way to look into the Harrison twins, that's a violation right there Expand Reply Retweet Favorite
2h Eric Prisbell @EricPrisbell @joshk2010 to be perfectly honest, I am not concerned about NCAA. They don't tackle real issuesThe Harrisons and their dad are good people. Expand Reply Retweet Favorite

UnderArmour (based in Baltimore and the CEO is a huge Maryland alum) vs. the most crooked man in college hoops (Coach Cow)/Nike. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out...

Yeah, what I found odd about all this is just how open UnderAmour, Maryland, and the dad seem to be about the whole situation. Most programs that do business this way try and hide this type of affiliation when it comes to recruiting. These guys are screaming it out loud to the media, almost like they're bragging. You can tell that this is UnderAmour's and Maryland's first rodeo.

After Phil Knight parading around sUcK's locker room and Anthony Davis openly embracing William Wesley on the court, there isn't one thing sUcK fans can say with any sort of moral high ground about UnderArmor . Hell, if the NCAA isn't going to do anything about it with Nike, then they can't say anything about the other shoe companies pulling the same crap.

Oh, I agree 100%, but my point is Phil Knight, Nike or even Adidas have never done anything like this in public during an elite recruiting battle. You always hear the rumors about what's happening behind the scenes, but they are never in the forefront of things.
I'm just saying that NIKE/UK, Adidas/UCLA, Jordan/UNC and whomever else recruits this way, using their shoe affiliation is a lot more low key compared to the way that UnderAmour and Maryland are handling this.
Basically, all people have on those other schools that I mentioned above are behind the scenes rumors from mysterious unnamed sources, but with UnderAmour and Maryland you have the dad actually going on record saying that the only person that has the twins phone# and is allowed to contact them is an UnderAmour official.

Money is always money, but if you were a one and done, why in Gods name wouldn't you go to UK? Cal has proven he gets top talent into the league and doesn't check up on the "student athletes" to make sure they are attending classes after the first semester. Why wouldn't the Twins go to UK over Maryland?
My speculation is they are trying to avoid the shit storm around UK recruiting, like LvilleKidd has been saying. Does he have creditable information? I guess we will find out on Thursday.

I don't care how much like sour grapes this sounds, but John Calipari's way of doing things (actively recruit as many 1 year players as possible without regard to getting them an education), along with ESPN, and shoe companies are fcking up college sports. UK basketball is NOT college basketball. It's just not.
Start paying these kids and get it over with. The kids that play in revenue generating sports are being exploited. It's just that simple. Now, I'll give you that the "one and doners" are allowing themselves to be exploited, but most players are not of that ilk. Education is a great thing to get, but these players are generating billions of dollars in TV revenue, ticket sales, and apparel.
Just my .02.....regardless of what happens with the Harrisons and UK.

if the NCAA allows school to start paying players then it still won't change anything. All that does is give a new starting point for top athletes.
They will still have their hand out to the highest bidders.
