The student section is directly across the arena from my season tickets and I was HIGHLY PISSED at the last pUKe/UofL game. Pissed because many students sold their tix to pUKe fans.
Since that game, I have been told they are requiring Student IDs with student tickets. (That being said, there will be some Blew in the SSection because of some pUKe fan students at UofL.) That fact alone should assure a lower number of Blewnecks in the section.
I am interested to see what the arena looks like tomorrow-I fully expect a different look from the last game.
I'll keep an eye out for that. I know a kid who goes to UL but hates the Cards. Poor kid, his dad made him go there .
What a failure in parenting.
Hopefully they won't be too strict. I'm gonna have a UofL ID but I don't look like the person, but I look like a college aged cards fan.

I've entered without an ID before. I used the side entrance from the garage as opposed to the front entrance. The lady said "You need to go over there to get your student ID scanned". I didn't, I just walked up the steps and made my way to my seats. That was for last year's "Cuse game.
I emailed Brad Barber, VP of Tickets with UofL to make sure IDs would be checked. I don't want to get embarrassed like we did two years ago-with all that pUKe Blew in our Student Section.
And it begins ;) I got your back chak.
It won't end until the University makes sure students are sitting in the student section. +1 to you my man-plenty of insider info there!
I contacted the VP of ticket operations tonight. He assured me that they WOULD BE CHECKING IDs tomorrow.

Ill probably end up going in the front entrance but not student gate with a big crowd and try and find a nice ticket taker. Hopefully it'll work
No bluenecks allowed
Still obsessed with the student section I see. How about you contac the VP about the fans, in general, who sell to Uk fans?
Any traitor UofL student/UK fan should be heckled until they feel their better option is to leave. No physical threats or violence, just relentless cheering of UofL and jeering of UK until they leave. These traitors should be made to feel as uncomfortable as possible until they do the right thing and not take seats away from other UofL fans.

Some of those are corporate seats and they give their tickets to employees who may or may not be fans of UofL or UK. Nothing the University can do about that.
There is nothing the University can do about UK fans being students as well.
I see seats all over the arena for sale. However, this individual only wants to focus on students because they get a "discounted" rate for tickets. I say big fin deal. That discounted rate is made up in regards to tuition, fees, books, room/board, etc. I was a member of the student section, when we were the L'Raisers. I only missed one game and that was because it had snowed like 6'' and my car was stuck. However, I do understand why some students sell their tickets, I guess others don't.
You can sell tickets but that should be limited to ONLY UofL students. We have been season ticket holders since 1966 and have donated thousands of dollars. We are sick if students selling tix to people who do NOT donate to the CAF.
You simply have student tickets. If season ticket holders choose to sell - that is their right. After all, Stubhub sends us emails all the time.
Student tuition has NOTHING to do with the basketball program. You pay tuition for school-not entertainment.
If you assholes sell tix and the arena allows 50 year old pUKe fans in the "UofL student section" AGAIN, I am going to continue to raise holy Hell about the issue.
I understand not allowing UK fans in but the donation to CAF thing is shit, I donate for other sports and other avenues, get over it. The students are just making money in a way they know how to easily
I wonder how many season ticket holders sell their seats to CAF donors. I'm guessing not many. The majority of the people who buy student sold tickets are UL fans, get over it. There will always be blue at UL games just get over it. Studetn section, regular fan section, etc. And tuition is most definitely basketball and athletics related when a portion of it goes to pay for a fee. What about the thousands of UL fans who don't get student season tickets but still pay this fee? If asshole douchebags, like someone I won't mention, keeps thinking they're better than someone because they donate money then I'll continue to raise holly hell. Get a life.
Not true. In this years budget $1,700,000.00 is in the athletic budget from Student athletic fees that are part of tuition. $350,000 is budgeted by the athletic department to be given back to the University. There are also a few other fees that are included in tuition that provide some form of entertainment.
How much does the University make through donations and corporations?
Outkast, when we receive our season tickets, there is a Stubhub advertisement in the package. As far as your donations in other avenues, that is great.
Get involved as a basketball season ticket holder, pay the checks and then tell me how much you like seeing students scalp their discounted tickets.
I just love how the entitled students feel like they mean so much to the Athletic Department. I also like how some other posters (who have ZERO financial commitment to the program) have such an opinion. Outkast, you should be ashamed. You sit here and spew your BS on a topic you have absolutely NO financial investment in. For that matter, you have no investment in the message boards either (just like me but I am not bitching about dollars here).
Students, you are lucky you are even allowed into that arena. You deserve nothing and you don't deserve to screw the system over.
Now, hurry up and graduate and move back into your mother's basement. Maybe your parents will take you to a game sometime and let you sit in their seats in 322.
I don't think it is that nasty...I just don't like seeing redneck blew fans in our student section and think they need to reconfigure the system down there if it continues.
So students that a majority of them pay for themselves shouldn't be allowed into the arena that their school represents. How obtuse. So if UL students felt the need to fill the eRupption zone wouldn't make the BBN mad. Interesting.
First off, you obviously don't know shit about me. This "entitled" student graduated with a BA in Political Science and History in 2005 and a masters in teaching in 2008. I'm now working on a Masters in school counseling so my financial involvement into this university is well over 100k. Not to mention I have football season tickets for the past five years and I spend countless Saturday afternoons watching those nice CAF donors show up late and leave early. The few games I've been able to attend at the Yum I've seen the same. Instead of worrying about what happens in the student section just worry about being loud for your Cards. Or just worry about going fast and beating the traffic.
BTW, I'm married, with a 4 year old son. I own my own house, I have a wonderful teaching job, and I'm enjoying life. Maybe one day you'll grow up and pull your right hand out of your pants. 2 million sperm and you were the fastest one. Such a damn shame.
I understand why students sell their tickets but it is bullsh*t. There are other students who would love to go to the game but can't because the allotment of tickets for students was sold out. Instead of selling their tickets, it should go to the next student wanting to actually use it.
