Probably my all-time favorite jerseys were this year's red-out jerseys. They rank up there with 2009's white-out jerseys.
The one thing I like about Nike is that you can always find a lot of it for almost any team and there is a lot of variety. I get Eastbay catalogues and they have full uniforms, several types of shirts, hats, you name it. Adidas...not so much. Yeah you can find Adidas sponsored Louisville gear but you have to do more searching and there's usually less variety. Other than that I love Adidas (other than the camo garbage).
As far as the switch, I'll believe it when I see it.
I'm with very few others on here but I love Adidas and hope we don't switch. I've always liked Adidas better, especially a lot of the throwback stuff they make like the dunking bird shirt and the Heisman card shirt....I think their stuff is way better.
Ive grown to accept and even embrace our adidas gear...and they will not let us leave. We are a marquee Program. Besides the D Roses and Crazy Lites, the shoes are lame. The regular Adidas gear is ok...but I do love the adidas originals. I think thye should allow the "original" imprint to be on mre UL gear and let us be unique in that manner....Im over it for real (in terms of NIKE switch)
I'd say '89 when they won the 'Ship, then the Fab 5 made them big time for a couple of years. Since then...not much until this year. I forget how they did this year, pretty sure they went fairly far, but maybe lost? Weren't they up in the championship game only to lose? I wonder who they lost to?
All kidding aside, I've heard that Addidas football gear is preferred by the athletes while Nike basketball gear is preferred by hoopers. I have no stake in the game, and I think the recruiting insinuations are overblown. I seriously doubt a kid chooses a school based on who their provider is. Now, maybe one company has more influence from a "runner" standpoint than the other. I don't know. All I want is the company that will treat our University and athletes with respect and provide and promote them with the best intentions. If it's Nike, so be it, but I'd be surprised if TJ (and Rick, you know he has some input, and he's an Addidas guy) moved away from Addidas.
"Everyone has idiots... It's just a problem for the UK fanbase because there are so many of us." BROS
My Adidas shoes seem to be holding up much better than the Nikes I had. The Nikes would last maybe a year of everyday use. My Adidas shoes have lasted me 3 yrs of almost everyday use so far. I'm also over the Nike switch hoopla and their overpriced garbage. I prefer Adidas and I LOVED the Infra-Red uniforms last year. I wish they'd use those again sometime. Not a fan of the camo jerseys but liked the shorts.
totally not true regarding them putting a hurt on Nike. Nike dominates the basketball market share. And if you added Jordan in that mix it's even smaller for the nearest competitor. From a sportsmarketing perspective it's the same way. There have only been two none Nike champions in the last 13 years. (thank God it's us and then there is Kansas) If you look at it, U "I don't give a damn" K and UNC didn't have their typical years. Thus the top 10 looking like it did. That's not to say that we, IU or Kansas didn't deserve to be there. However, it will make a difference next year. Take a look at Vitale's top 12.....Only one Adidas team on there.....
No true man.....Nike is the football leader. However, their competition is not Adidas. It's U/A now. And as for for basketball, It's all Nike. Adidas dominates in what it knows best....Soccer.....
if we do leave, that puts us in a whole new light with recruits in football and basketball. If you notice, if our guys are Mickey D guys they rarely make the Jordan game......IJS
So one championship, one of the most famous cheating scandals of all time, 20 years of irrelevance with no prior history and 1 good tourney run make you a "Top Basketball School"? mmmmmkaaaayyy
