Haven't posted on here much guys but I read this board every day. Went to the dinner For Fellowship Of Christian Athletes last night and had a football player as guest at our table. When asked about Nike he confirmed that we will switch when we go to the ACC. To somewhat confirm I was there, Coach Strong, Teddy Bridgewater, Siva, as well as Hancock spoke. Sara Hammond prayed and Jamon Brown and his brother sang "His eye is on the Sparrow". We are going to Nike according to the Junior player at our table. Good kid I might add. By the way Mango is very lean but is very well spoken. Hope this helps!
Get on the Train or get out of the way!
good post! I, for one, would love to see a switch to Nike. It's not all about what the uniforms look like. Nike does a better job than Adidas at marketing the teams they outfit. This means more exposure to recruits, which is obviously a good thing. I will say though, that we are doing just fine currently with Adidas.
I really like Adidas and will surely miss it. They are finally starting to make good gear, unfortunately someone at the top wants to make the switch. New Conference, new gear = fresh start! I'm all in! Go ACC and Go Cards!
Isn't most, if not all, ACC schools with Nike? The only one I can think of who's not is out-going Maryland (Underarmour).
Actually, I just looked it up. NC State is with Adidas, Boston College is with Under Armor, and Georgia Tech is with Russell Athletic. The rest are with Nike.
I enjoyed a Nike free championship game. Last pair of Nike I owned was some Air Jordan IVs. What I don't understand is how the "Cut down the Nets" t-shirt has a Nike swoosh and a Cardinal logo. I guess someone is getting paid somewhere.
Personally, I like the adidas products better, especially the golf shoes. Ehh...there probably isn't that much difference. Everything thing has been crap since the Pro Keds
One thing to think about-if there isn't much Adidas in the ACC, Adidas will backup the dumptruck full of money to our door.
Nike was the official sponsor of the FF. All FF gear had the swoosh.
I get irritated at Adidas outlet's never seem to have any apparel from the teams they support, but you can go to a Nike outlet just about anywhere and they have their teams. Went to Vegas about 6 or 7 years back, first thing I saw was UK jerseys.
I'm far from young, so I don't know, but does Nike appeal to more young kids than Adidas?
Same with the Sugar Bowl, Nike is the sponsor of all BCS bowls so there was a lot of Sugar Bowl swag with the swoosh. With the price increases on Adidas apparel over the last year or 2, I've been loving the Nike stuff we've been able to get. I look forward to the switch if it actually happens.
Adidas for me. Better quality.
Most major SCHOOLS are with Nike, regardless of conference.
Nike just has a much larger sponsorship footprint than Adidas.
In the new ACC, Boston College is Under Armour (Maryland is moving to the B1G), Notre Dame, NC State, and us are Adidas. Our Adidas contract is through 2015.

So only fat people can be well spoken? Fatist
A simple question: is your butt jealous of the amount crap coming from your mouth?
I would say that ND, UCLA, Kansas, IU, MICH, UofL, Tennessee and Baylor are considered big time schools. Same with Nebraska and Wisconsin (in f-ball anyway).
Texas A&M is Adidas, too.

adidas is putting the hurt to Nike at the collegiate level. If you look at the Top Schools in Basketball, there is a huge push to adidas. The biggest reason? The shoe...the quality of the adidas shoe is way better.
I would be shocked if adidas allows a National Champion to get away. They were there for us when we joined the Big East and offered to outfit ALL of our sports, whereas Nike only wanted Basketball and Football.
I don't know where you're getting this quality of the shoe is better stuff. I've owned both Adidas and Nike shoes recently and Nike is blowing them out of the water and its not even close.
Completely disagree. Will never wear Nike Basketball shoes or cleats again. Complete cr@p, low quality. There is a reason why many of the Top Basketball schools have switched to Nike in recent years. i.e. KU and Michigan.
Nike shoes are much better. The Lebrons and Hyperdunks are way better than anything Adidas puts out.
KU and Texas A&M switched to Adidas in 2005 and Michigan in 2008. No idea on why Texas A&M switched, but both Kansas and Michigan switched becasue Nike was only sponsoring football and basketball, and wasn't interested in sponsporing other sports for them.
Memphis and Pitt switched from Adidas to Nike in 2009. Arkansas switched from Adidas to Nike in 2010. Marquette joined Nike (from nike-owned converse) in 2010.
When did Michigan become a top basketball school?
I liked the Adidas regular season uniforms this year.....wasn't too crazy about the camo stuff but the regular season unis were great!
From reading these boards, it would appear I'm in the extreme minority, but I actually like adidas, and if we were to switch I'd be slightly upset. That said, I don't really care either way. I'm a big Puma fan myself, I'd like to be the first Puma sponsored team.
I prefer Adidas gear as well.
Aside from the stupid post-season crap they keep throwing at us (infra-red and camo), the adidas stuff looks much better to me, and I prefer wearing it as well (mainly for golf, but whatever).
Even that weird post season stuff at least draws a lot of notice, which is probably the intent.
I guess Fab 5!!! LOL Much more of a football school than basketball
