Are you going to brag, taunt and ridicule or stay low key with them? Predict your dealing with them for the next few months.
Me, I don't like them trying to antagonize me so I don't do it to them. To be honest I don't talk sports with uk fans. If there is someone I know who is a big uk supporter I never talk sports with them. I don't give them my opinion on uk and I don't ever get their opinion of UL.
Say nothing really, just smile alot.
I never bring myself down to their level.
They are of no consequence. Louisville is the defending national champion and surpassed the season that the "great" UK team of '11-12 had. Higher ratings. Better attendance to NCAA championship. A more dominating performance against arguably better competition in several games.
They can crow about 1951 and all that shit like they usually do, but the fact is Louisville is the national champion....and Sugar Bowl champion.....and runner-up in women's basketball.....UK can't hold UL's jock as an athletic program.
And that's the bottom line. Our facilities, coaches, players, and programs are just better. It's not bragging if it's true.
Beatles, Bill Withers, Citizen Cope, Jim James, Levon Helm, Lupe Fiasco, Waylon, Beastie Boys, Pink Floyd, Paul Westerberg, V-roys
ditto. i avoid rivalry talk with my uk co-workers. they're nice enough people, and if i started into ul vs. uk talk and let my disgust for their basketball program (and most of their fans) come out, i would only makes enemies.
just trying to stay above the fray.
"He was a cruel man, but fair."
Uk fans, for the most part are just too irrational and stuck on stupid about thier greatness facts and figures don't sink into thier fat heads. They want you to argue so they can drop the 8 championship bomb. Its all they got and its all they'll argue over. Deep down they know its over and that little brother is passing them by and if you take away thier argument with a smile and wink, they can't do nothing about except be miserable.

I live in Richmond but am from Louisville. My parents moved here as well as both went to UofL and lived there many years. My 8 year old has her first softball game of the season in Berea and my 70 year old mother just bought a Robert Morris hoodie and is planning on debuting it at her granddaughters game while my father is planning on wearing a UofL title shirt of some kind .
Needless to say my family is starting off the summer right in Big Blew nation!
Exactly. They should not be of any real consequence to Louisville fans. Our athletic program is superior and that is without question.
Actually, their fans should be thankful, because if their athletic department has any competitive spirit, they will want to do the things necessary to try to play on the same level. They have had so many advantages (which are shrinking as UL gains national prominence across the spectrum of athletics, improves facilities, gets attention for doing things right, and moves into an elite all-sport conference) and still seem to rest on the basketball program as the only sport that matters. It's why we are "Miles Ahead"!!!!
Uk is a win at all cost university, always have been. When they start getting competitive, they usually have to "reload" a coaching staff. Even as corrupt as I personnally feel the ncaa has become, they won't be able to ignore 7 8 9 all americans going to the same school year in and year out.
Uk seems just not to be able to help themselves. The nature of the beast I suppose.
i will talk shit non stop
I work with some UK fans. We talk smack a lot but we keep it civil. One of the guys I work with is the most die hard UK fan I've ever met in my life. After we beat them this year I went on and on about how we'll beat them next year too. After UK's crappy start to the year all the "wait until next year" thing started. I decided to try make a t-shirt bet with him (loser wears the winning team's t-shirt). Now I do not care about wearing a UK t-shirt. It's just a shirt. But he will die if he has to wear a U of L shirt. In fact he did not want to take the bet initially and wanted to bet money instead. But I told him that he had no faith in his team. I told him that he doesn't truly believe that his team will be 40-0 (he really believes this) and if he truly believed in his team then he would take the bet. I all but called him a coward. He went ahead and took the bet. People at work now have a secondary reason for watching the game because one of us will be wearing the other teams shirt. It's gonna be fun talking smack until then.
To the uk friends of mine it will be as normal. To the ones I know that are not friends of mine a middle finger.
I'll be nasty to them all, until the football game, then I'll be worse after we kick their azz again.
Treat them like the sh!t scum of the earth they all are with no exceptions.
"Die Verbannten Kinder Evas"
Nothing because I don't want to deal with their shit...only one or two UK fans that I know where I can have an actual debate/conversation about the two programs...most others I just want to commit first degree assault against
Lexington doesn't exist
I don't speak hillbilly.
I found out today that UK fans are a little hesitant to bring up bb talk right now. They know how shallow the "We are going to do next year, what you guys just did, cuzz we have the greatest recruiting class known to college basketball." It just doesn't have alot of force!
Went to a family outing with some very distant UK relatives and not one of them said a word. Of course, I was wearing my Robert Morris T-shirt! lol
I'm going to deal with UK fans the way I deal with them every summer. I snipe them. I go out into remote areas of Kentucky and take them out in bunches. I have a couple M40s that I use. Some nights I can get as many as 30 to 40 UK fans. I take out men, women, and children. Able-bodied and disabled, black, white, latino, christian, jew, and all other. If I see see UK clothing I take them out. I've sniped infants in their mother's arms because her mother made the mistake of dressing sally in a UK tshirt. I sniped a pastor once right after I sniped the crippled man in the wheel chair the pastor was helping across the street. I saw the van the pastor was driving the crippled man in, it had a UK license plate. I'm hoping to break my record I set in 2008, which was 216 kills. Some people ask me how it is that I am so brave. And why do I risk my life to snipe UK fans. I don't look at it that way. I'm just doing my part to help the human race by speeding up evolution by eradicating UK fans from the gene pool.
In all honesty, we don't even mention it in the light I see here on the smack board. It's not even discussed. Even when they won the year before. Sure, things are said, but they're in a respectful manner. I guess this is just a product of having good friends. And I have a very tight group of them that dates back to high school. I rarely run into a noxious fan. Idiots generally surround themselves with idiots, I trend to the latter. I happen to think the "all UK fans" are this and that a product of the "idiot crew".
There was a time however where they were visibly bothered. That's when Pitino came. I didn't touch them with that at all. Because they're my friends, and I refuse to kick them
when they're down.
I will say I saw something that blew our golfing group away. We let a scramble crew play through and 75% of them were
rocking Louisville gear and flags on their carts.
My good friend and UK Alumn looked at me and said. "Never in my life would I have expected to see this". It wasn't because we were going to play in the title game the next day, it was seeing the amount of fans in their gear. This was at Lincoln Trail country club in Vine Grove.
Same way as I always do. Order my food and drive off, they just have to get use to my car flags.
I'm in some danger of losing friends, actually, over the rivalry. There has been a dearth of comments to me at the usual places, including at home on the phone. I used to get calls from some UK friends who have taken a real break from the active part of the friendship. It's sad to me that something so small could affect something so large.
In my world, I can make one sarcastic comment and it ends up being precisely what they were waiting for to prove I am a bad UofL fan. From there, it magnifies into a weird drama.
I'm sort of done with all this. I'm ready to let them lapse back into thinking they own the state and quit playing them in sports.
"There is an eloquence in true enthusiasm."
Edgar Allen Poe
I don't speak to them until they get finished polishing my shoes.
every uOFK fan i know find a way to inject their cheating program into every conversation, 24-7. shameless.
I won't say anything to do them as usual, as I am not friends with those type of people.....won't be around them
90% of UofL fans are simply too different from 90% of uofk people....not much in common
