My take on this bizarre behavior....
*Mike will be on LSL tomorrow as we get his take on the 'Dream Game' and Sugar Bowl.....
Great article, thanks for posting.
It's like Hitler being part Jew. WTF is wrong with you people?
I was born in Lex, went to HS there and never once thought about rooting for the cats, ever.
I can top that.
I have 3 close friends that......went to UofL, got a bachelors degree from UofL, were in a fraternity at UofL, were born in Louisville and cheer for UK.
I think it has to do with their parents. All their parents were die hard UK fans. It is like indoctrination and brainwashing that people can not overcome.
I still don't get it.

I live literally 16 miles or so from Lexington, constantly surrounded by UK fans. My grandpa was a UK season ticket holder back in the Rupp days who personally shook Rupp's hand, while bestfriends of mine are die hard cat fans. Still I've never once even thought about rooting for the inbred nation.
In a city full of Bluenecks, I still bleed RED!!!
I grew up a Card fan because my dad was a huge fan. My first 12 years were free of UK fan since we lived just south of Madison WIsconsin. My family moved back and for the last 27 years I have been amazed at the blew neck stupidity. I attended and graduated from UK. My first day on campus I saw one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed. In front of Hagan Hall, ten pasty white guys, some of which wearing UK sweatpants in 94 degree heat, playing pickup games of basketball. One particular team called each other by the respective UK player playing their respective position from the "unforgettables". I too was in a fraternity and when UK and UofL played I had to lock myself in my room. I hated Rick Pitino then, I tolerate him now.
That article by Plaschke perfectly states the difference between Louisville and Kentucky to me. Just perfect.
The worst UK fans are those who...
*Have zero ties to UK
*Born and Raised in Louisville and have lived here their entire life
*Actually live in the West End
*Possibly never visited Lexington
*Can't name a starting line up before Cal arrived at UK...
I know several people who qualify with all of the above criteria!
