Future Louisville quarterback Kyle Bolin injured his knee in the first half of Lexington Catholic's 24-21 win over Boyle County Friday night and didn't return to action. Monday, the four-star recruit went to the doctor for testing to determine the extend of his knee injury.
The news wasn't good for the 6-2, 195 pound Bolin. Testing confirmed that the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee is torn, which means Bolin will require surgery and miss the remainder of his senior season.
"Unfortunately my left ACL is torn," Bolin tweeted Monday. "I will work my ass off from here on out & come back stronger/faster than ever! Thank you for the support!"
The highest-ranked prospect in Louisville's 2013 recruiting class, Bolin expected to redshirt next season at UofL. He led Lexington Catholic to a 6-1 record before his injury, throwing for more than 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns.
"Not everything comes easy.. sometimes you have to endure pain and hardwork to get to where you wanna go. I'm excited for this challenge!!!" Bolin tweeted.
